Double the love

I just love it when I get a call from former wedding clients who need photos to capture their sweet newborn. Sweeter still is when the call comes and it's not one baby, but twins!

This special boy and girl knew how to make a grand entrance by choosing Leap Day as their birthday. How cool is that? They are so small at just five and a half pounds that they don't quite fit into their skin yet.

Oh my, photographing (and even just holding) these teeny tiny people was pure joy. Congratulations twice over, Amanda and Jayant!

That was then ....

... this is now.

Four years ago I captured some of my favourite wedding pictures when photographing the easy-going Max and Rebecca. You may recognize them from some of my website photos.

Recently, I caught up to them again and boy, have things changed in their home. They are now proud parents to the cutest little girls who were such a joy to photograph. Lots of giggles and smiling faces, bubbles and flowers, and here are some of my favourites of that photo shoot.

A winning family

I contacted Peggy a few weeks ago because she won a contest at my parents' farm. Long story short, her knowledge of farm machinery got her a free family photo session which included one free 8x10 print. Lucky timing for Peggy because her mom is visiting from China and will be going home very soon.

We got some really nice combinations of the families and got a little silly, too. Thank you very much for welcoming me into your home, Peggy. It was an honour. With lots of laughs!

This one is one of my favourites.

Like the others, this one below is a slice of regular family life. But it seems more peaceful, somehow. It, too, gets a thumbs up.

Autumn

Have you noticed the spectacular fall colours this year? It's as if the trees have been painted with iridescent shades of yellows and oranges and reds. Absolutely stunning.

Recently, I took advantage of the beautiful colours to get a great backdrop for some family photos. The kids had SO much fun playing in the leaves covering the ground. Don't these photos make you want to be a kid again?

Sibling fun

One of my favourite subjects to photograph is kids. They are able to let loose and have fun in a way few adults can. I take a lot of photos of my brother's kids, partly because I always have my camera handy and also because, well, they are just so darn photogenic!

Snapshot: Higher, Daddy!

I grabbed this snapshot of my brother and his daughter in a friend's pool over the weekend.
